Hey Mama, I’m Katie.
Welcome! I am a dedicated pediatric intensive care nurse with a passion for helping families thrive in holistic ways. After years of caring for little ones in critical conditions, I've come to realize the vital importance of comprehensive well-being, particularly in the realm of sleep and attachment.
My husband Steve and I are newly married and eager to start a family of our own. We live in Nashville TN with our two dogs Kodi (Lab) and Mazy (Boxer). I'm a bit of a health and fitness junike. You'll often find me exploring the great outdoors with my family soaking in the beauty of nature and staying active.
I'm thrilled to be on this path of serving families in a meaningful and holistic way. Whether you're navigating the challenges of infant sleep or seeking to enhance your family's well-being, I'm here to support you every step of the way.
You got this!
What is a baby-led sleep and well-being specialist?
As a Baby-Led Sleep and Well-Being Specialist, my mission is to support you on your journey through motherhood and empower you to lead your little with love. I understand that not every baby, child, and family are the same and what works for one may not work for the next. That’s why I’m here to offer personalized support and encourage you to trust your instincts as a mother. I will never ask you to do something that just doesn't feel right to you. Instead, I will guide you in keeping what works for your family and changing what doesn’t. We will collaborate to make an individualized plan that feels good to you and keep the things you love.
I do not use cry it out or separation techniques of any sort. This is so important to me! I believe every child's needs should be met within the moments they need them. I am not in the business of making children hysterical. I will support you to make space for your child’s emotions so you can grow together. I value the relationship you have with your child above all else. The key to my approach is attachment and building a strong beautiful bond between you and your baby. Independent sleep is not a learned skill but rather a skill that develops naturally after years of knowing they can deeply depend on mom and dad for needs.
I will work with you to understand YOUR baby’s natural sleep and rhythm cues. I will help you create a sleep-friendly environment that helps facilitate restful sleep. I will help you implement gentle and responsive strategies to support your baby to sleep. I will encourage bonding and attachment during sleep routines. I will provide guidance and support for addressing sleep challenges and transitions, such as sleep regressions, nap transitions, and night weaning. I will never judge any choices you have made. When we know better, we will do better. I will always validate your concerns and hear your opinions. I will remind you to indulge in self care and things that make you feel good. Your needs are important too and putting yourself first (occasionally) will allow you to be there for your child during the highs but also the lows.
